July 6, 2022

Loren Skoyen of the Blaine County Cruisers presents Chinook Class of 2022 graduate Oskar Pula with a $500 Scholarship at the CHS graduation.

The Blaine County Cruise will once again take place this Friday and Saturday. The 11th annual Cruise will have all the bells and whistles that Cruisers have enjoyed for more than a decade. The Blaine County Cruisers first formed as a way for car lovers to come together and share their passion for their love of automobiles. In the years that followed it has become so much more to its members, followers and the community itself.

Car lovers, or enthusiast as some prefer, love to talk about their latest project or one they would like to take on. Most local car enthusiast really enjoy all the things that can come with their love for cars and trucks. Well vehicles of all kinds really, if one is willing to involve friends, family and their community.

Car shows are prevalent up and down the Hi-line. Malta held their Annual Car Show in conjunction with the Phillips County Motor Speedway races to begin the month of June. Turner recently held their car show and fly in that brought the airplane into the mix. Tractors and old farm equipment accompany the car show at the Montana Seed Show at Harlem High School during the month of March each spring. The Blaine County Cruisers will have their annual car show later this fall. The past few years the Cruisers have worked alongside the Chinook Rod and Gun Club to hold their events simultaneously. In any event the Blaine County Cruisers, in all their endeavors stick to the family, friends and community first theme.

Throughout the year, the events held by the Blaine County Cruisers are done so with the idea of raising money for their scholarship program. The Blaine County Cruisers offers a graduating High School Senior that is looking to further their education in some sort of trade school a scholarship that can be used to buy books, tools or whatever they may need to further their pursuit of a trade degree. This year the Blaine County Cruisers Scholarship went to Chinook High School Class of 2022 graduate Oskar Pula to use at Montana State University-Northern as he pursues in an Electrical field.

The Blaine County Cruisers welcomes anyone to come join them in their pursuit of the love of all things automotive and shared with family, friends and the local community. Check out their Facebook page, Blaine County Cruisers or visit their website at http://www.blainecountycruise.com. Stop by the Blaine County Cruise this Friday or Saturday and talk to a member about joining the club. Stay for the movie, come to the breakfast Saturday morning and support the Blaine County 4-H Foundation and maybe fill out your registration and go on the cruise. It could be your lucky day, maybe you take home the $1,000 Grand Prize. Either way supporting the Blaine County Cruisers helps a student earn a scholarship and that is a win in its own right.
