The library board of trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting today, September 21, 4:15 P.M. in the library meeting room.

The library is celebrating the right to read with the observation of “Banned Book Week.” The American Library Association’s theme for 2022 is “Books Unite Us…Censorship Divides Us.” Come and take a look at the banned book week display Carly has put together. When you read a banned book your name will be entered into a drawing to win a prize at the end of the month.

“Hatchet Island” is a new thriller from Paul Doiron. Maine game warden, Mike Bowditch, and his girlfriend, Stacey Stevens, receive a less than friendly welcome when they go ashore on an island sanctuary for seabirds where Stacey had spent her internship. A mysterious boatman is stalking the biologists and now the sanctuary’s founder has gone missing.

Are you ready for a new mystery? Why not try “Holy Chow,” an Andy Carpenter mystery by David Rosenfelt. Beloved characters, both human and canine, are back on a murder case.

“Sugar and Salt” is written by Susan Wiggs. Jerome Sugar, learned to bake at his grandmother’s bakery on the same block as the Lost and Found Bookshop. Margot Salton, famous for her East Texas barbeque, moves in to take over the restaurant that shares his commercial kitchen. Margot and Jerome’s attraction is powerful, but will their newfound friendship be threatened when her past comes back to haunt her?
