Scott MacKenzie to be Honored at Special Museum Dedication

November 23, 2022

Blaine County Museum invites you to attend the dedication of two special memorials to our late board chairman and founding member, Stuart “Scott” MacKenzie at 4 PM on Friday, November 25th. Friends Jude Sheppard, Dave Boisvert, and museum board chair Caryl Luckett will share reflections of Scott’s unparalleled contributions to the preservation of Blaine County history. Both memorials were sponsored by donations made to the museum following Scott’s passing in 2020, and they will hereafter serve as reminders of his service to our organization. Members of the community are encouraged to share memories of Scott during the program. The dedication will be followed by a special showing of “Forty Miles from Freedom”, a project that Scott helped accomplish during the late 1980s, and that he always took great pride in.

Free coffee, tea, and cookies will be provided. Scrap books of early museum history will also be on display. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to preview the museum’s winter exhibit “High Flight: Remembering the C-141 Collision of 1992” on display in the lobby gallery. The museum would like to thank Darwin Zellmer for contributing materials to make this exhibit possible.
