We've Got The County Covered

4th Annual Blaine County Fair foundation Brewfest Will Be a Good Time For All

The Blaine County Fair Foundations' 4th Annual Brewfest is Saturday February 4 at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. This is a fundraising event that is meant to help make the Blaine County Fair the very best it can be. The Brewfest will get underway at 4:00 pm and run until 9:00 pm. Entertainment will be provided by "America's Premier Cowboy Comedian", Kip Attaway. Several brewers will be on hand including Beavercreek Brewery, Triple Dog Brewery, Meadowlark Brewery and Big Spring Brewery. In addition, there will be nearly a dozen taps available from Havre Distributors. For those who enjoy a more 'sophisticated' spirit there will be wine tasting by Wine Shop at Home.

Blaine County Fair Manager, Debbie Ramberg discussed the importance of these fundraisers, "The foundation does these fundraising events to supplement our fair. Our budget has gone down and the entertainment industry has gone up. A carnival is way out of our budget, that is if we could even get one to come to this area for our fair. The county doesn't have the revenue from gas and oil that it used to have and that is one reason we don't have the budget we use to have. The Fair Foundation is a way for us to raise more funds. In 2022 the foundation cooked and served the Wildlife banquet and the Stockgrowers banquet. We all volunteer our time for these events and the funds go directly to the foundation."

The Brewfest will have some familiar faces on hand once again, "Meadowlark is the only new brewery. The others have been with us before. We are grateful to have them at our event supporting our fundraising. Because we are a smaller venue it is harder to get breweries and that is why we have added Havre Distributors with 10 plus taps. Havre Distributors have been a great supporter for our fundraising. We would not be able to put this event on without the support of our awesome sponsors and support from our community and foundation members. All the people working the event are volunteers. We will also have silent auction items so if you would like to donate an item call Debbie at 406-945-3841."

For those wondering about the Wine Shop at Home, Ramberg clears thing up, "Tara Hofeldt is the local Wine Shop at Home distributor and we have purchased wine from her for our event. Not everyone likes beer and that is why we have added wine. You will be able to purchase chips for the wine just like you do for the beer."

Those attending won't just have to rely on their favorite beverage to get through the night, "Traveling tacos and super nachos will also be sold. The Foundation makes the fixings and sells them the during the event. The funds from the food sales goes towards the kitchen. Items disappear and wear out, so this is a good way to replace items in the kitchen without cutting into our county budget," stated Ramberg.

Everyone is encouraged to attend Brewfest and support our Fair Foundation. Help the Blaine County Fair raise money to make this year's fair the very best it can be despite the obstacles of inflation and diminished funds. Ramberg can't speak highly enough of the Blaine County Fair Board and their continuing effort to do their very best, "I would also like to say what an awesome board I have. They all volunteer and work very hard for our fairgrounds and this community. We all get along very well and support each other. It's a privilege to be on this board with them.
