Post Season Honors Recognize Two Wildcats and a Sugarbeeter

Harlem sophomore Matthew Billmayer

The post season awards list for the Northern C Eight Player football division has been released. Included on the list are a pair of Harlem Wildcats and a lone Chinook Sugarbeeter. The Wildcats and Sugarbeeters both struggled to find wins this season but both competed start to finish like the game was on the line. Wildcat Head Coach, Trenton Woodward and Chinook Head Coach, Mike Jones worked with very young teams, and both did a great job building for the future.

Harlem sophomore Matthew Billmayer earned First Team All-Conference honors as wide receiver. Billmayer has an uncanny ability to get open on short crossing routes, beating the defender off the line of scrimmage with superb route running. When the line could give his quarterback time, Billmayer could get down field behind the defender and haul in the long pass. Billmayer consistently won the 50/50 balls and caused defenses to double and even triple team him.

Harlem sophomore Miles Fetter earned Second Team All-conference honors at Wide Receiver. Fetter did a spectacular job getting open and presenting a target for his quarterback to find. Fetter was also adept at running the ball and most of his yards came after contact. Fetter was a challenge for opposing teams to bring down and certainly made the offense better.

Chinook junior Landon Beck found his name on the list twice. Beck earned Honorable Mention honors at Outside Linebacker. A leader on the 'Beeter defense, Beck could plug holes in the run game or drop back in coverage in the pass game. Beck was a sure tackler that helped solidify the defense. Beck also earned Honorable Mention honors at runningback. Beck was a nifty runner who could often find the edge for a long gain or weave his way through the middle, whatever was asked of him. Beck could also produce in the screen game, often providing his quarterback with a check down if need be.

Congratulations to Mathew Billmayer, Miles Fetter and Landon Beck on your post-season awards. We look forward to watching all of you again next year.
