November 15, 2023

Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center!

We have had yet another fabulous week, here! If you were not here, you should have been!

We have had another wonderful Painting class with Jack Brandon. What fun! I do believe that he may be successful at turning some of us into artists, after all.

We have hosted several of the Pinochle Marathon groups & they certainly have been fun to have here at the Center!

We also had our first Lambsey card game class. We sure had fun. Even Doug Mosser, although I had to twist his arm to stay. Now, I think he may be hooked.

We had Doug Mitchell & Teddy Powell, last Friday, November 3rd as our “Guest Chefs”. What fun those two old cowboys are! They prepared Cube Steaks with all of the trimmings. Just a tiny secret….though. I made the gravy. Shhhhh. They didn’t even argue. We filled this house with many local people, as well as some from Malta & Havre. They are always fun to work with. AND….they will be back on Friday, December 1st, preparing Cowboy Stew. YUM! Make your reservations well in advance, please!

Because our last Friday in November, is the day after Thanksgiving, and our Center will be closed to allow our staff a rest & time to reflect on the many things that we are thankful for, our November Birthday Party will be held on Thursday, November 30th, instead of on a Friday. We will be preparing a wonderful Ham dinner. PLEASE let us know that you will be attending, well in advance (even a whole week ahead of time is very much appreciated) as that allows us the time to prepare accordingly.

We are once again partnering with Sam French, Blaine County Museum Director, to host the 2nd in a series of Off-Season Speakers who will be presenting some wonderful history and information that they have valuable knowledge of. PLEASE come & join us, as I feel that we are very fortunate to have these talented people here, who take the time & energy to prepare these events for us. Austin Haney, local historian will be presenting “ Iron Dreams”: Montana and the Pacific Railroad Surveys of 1853” on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15th @ 5:30! We will be serving light refreshments & would indeed, love to see you here!

We are still enjoying our Limber Up classes each Monday & Wednesday @10:00. We also have a different type of exercise class led by Ellen Savage each Tuesday @ 10:00. Tuesday is also Cribbage which is played @ 1:00. We have Caramel Rolls each Thursday, ready after 7:00, by calling us the day before & placing your order. 357-2648 We have Bingo on Thursday @ 1:00. We have the band each Friday, beginning @ 10:00. We also are still seeking Billiards players on Fridays, beginning @ 2:00.
