Gail M. (Joy) Faber, 66, passed away January 17, 2024, at home of natural causes. A Vigil Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Friday January 26, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Havre, MT. Her Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday January 27, also at St. Jude's, with a luncheon/reception to follow in the Parrish Center. Burial will take place this summer in a family ceremony, in her childhood home.
Gail was born July 5th, 1957, in Whitefish Montana to Arden E. Joy and Shirley L. Joy. She grew up in Whitefish, enjoying the outdoors and living life to the fullest. Graduating from Whitefish High in 1975, she went on to college and graduated from Montana State University.
A lifelong Montanan, Gail enjoyed careers as a ranch wife as well as with the Bureau of Land Management and different departments with the State of Montana. Living in Dillon and Glendive, she spent the majority of her adult life in Helena, and the Havre and Chinook area. After retiring from the State of Montana in Helena, she spent the last years of her life in Havre to be closer to her grandchildren.
Gail married twice and gave birth to a son Nathan in 1977, and a daughter Anastasia in 1997. Nathan and Anastasia were both the foundation upon which her life was built. As much as she loved her children, her grandchildren were the light of her life. Knowing that she had another grandchild on the way brought her indescribable joy.
Gail is survived by her son Nathan (Kristi) Burr of Havre, MT, daughter Anastasia Hartley and her fiancée Tony Stock of Helena, MT. Her brother Colin (Jill) Joy. As well as her beloved Uncle Doug, grandchildren, niece, nephews, and other adopted family members that she loved so much. Gail was preceded in death by her parents Arden and Shirley, her brother Craig, and her baby brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Homes.
