Blaine County Library

January 31, 2024

February is Library Lover’s Month! Library Lovers Month is celebrated for the entire month of February. Love is in the air not just because of Valentine’s Day, but also for library lovers all around the world. The month of February is dedicated to the people who love the buildings, halls, or rooms that house numerous collections of books, magazines, videos and audio books, as well as eBooks and downloadable audio books via Montana Library to Go.

We invite you to join us in celebrating libraries and all they offer. Blaine County Library will have book displays put together by Elle. We will have hearts for patrons to tell us why they “Love their Library” and we will have a drawing for adults and one for the youth in our community, so be sure to register for our drawing.

We have several new fiction books and 2 non-fiction books ready for check out. “Harbor Lights” by James Lee Burke is a collection of eight stories that move from the marshlands on the Gulf of Mexico to the sweeping plains of Colorado to prisons, saloons, and trailer parks across the South, weaving together love, friendship, violence, survival, and revenge. In “Ward D” by Frieda McFadden, medical student Amy Brenner is spending the night on a locked psychiatric ward. Amy has been dreading her evening working on Ward D, the hospital’s inpatient mental health unit. There are very specific reasons why she never wanted to do this required overnight rotation, reasons nobody can ever find out. As the hours tick by, Amy grows increasingly convinced something terrible is happening within these tightly secured walls. When patients and staff start to vanish without a trace, it becomes clear that everyone on the unit is in grave danger. “The Waters” by Bonnie Jo Campbell is a Read with Jenna book and is also on several must read lists. If you are looking for non-fiction, we have “The Whole Body Reset: Your Weight-Loss Plan for a Flat Belly, Optimum Health & a Body You’ll Love at Midlife and Beyond” by Stephen Perrine and “Rethinking Diabetes: What Science Reveals About Diet, Insulin, and Successful Treatments” by Gary Taubes.

Stop in and look at the February book displays, fill out a heart and tell us why you love your library, and be sure to sign up for our drawing. While you are here check out the on-going book sale in the entryway. With the many recently added new titles, you are sure to find something that sparks an interest for you or your child!
