February is Love Your Library month! What could be better than celebrating your library and chocolate? Come to the family friendly event “Love Chocolate…Love Your Library!” February 12, between 4:00 and 7:00 P.M. Sample chocolate temptations, buy chocolate confections from local vendors, make Valentine crafts, enjoy chocolate fondue, take your picture in the photo booth, and vote on decorated chocolate cakes. We are still looking for vendors, cake bakers, someone to make mini chocolate cupcakes, and people to help at the event. Please contact the library for more information.

The Book Challenge for February is to read a book with a book on the cover.

The new selection for The Book Club “The Music of Bees” by Eileen Garvin may be picked up this week. We will discuss the entire book February 26, 4 P.M.

The library is happy to provide tax forms, both state and federal, free of charge to patrons.

The Harlem Library and the Montana Library Network are hosting the virtual program “The Lentil Underground” on Thursday, February 15, 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. In this presentation we’ll learn about Montana’s organic agriculture movement and pulse crop revolutions from Davie Oien, Founding Farmer of Timeless Seeds in Ulm. Moderating this conversation will be Liz Carlisle, author of the books Lentil Underground, Grain by Grain (with Bob Quinn), and Healing Grounds. You may watch from your own device at http://tinyurl.com/thnemzyh or join the watch party at the library.

Socializing Seniors meets on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 in the library meeting room. This is a time to get together to visit, play games and have snacks. You don’t have to be a senior citizen to participate. Don’t miss the fun!

Two new Montana selections are “Catastrophe at Custer Creek: Montana’s Deadliest Train Wreck” by Ian Campbell Wilson and “The Quest: A Montanan’s Photographic Journey” by Richard S. Buswell.

Bestselling author Lisa Scottoline has written “Loyalty.” Readers will be transported to the ruggedly beautiful island of Sicily during the rise of the Mafia. The scenery contrasts with a turbulent history of colonization and corruption in this riveting work.

“Midnight” is by Amy McCulloch. In this thriller , a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Antarctica turns into a desperate battle for survival against a killer determined to follow their prey to the ends of the earth.

Former House Republican leader Liz Cheney has written “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning.”

Gwen Florio’s latest Nora Best mystery is “Best Be Prepared.” The second installment in the “On Devonshire Shores” series by Julie Klassen is “A Winter by the Seas.”

Weekly programs for children include After School Squad, STEAM activities for elementary students, on Wednesdays from 4:00- 5:00 P.M., Lego Club for all ages on Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M., and Storytime for children ages 0-5 on Fridays at 10:00 A.M.

The library will be closed Monday, February 19, in observance of Presidents’ Day.
