Hello From the Chinook Social Senior Center
Hoping that you all got your May Day baskets out and brought joy to people on your hearts.
Today was a special day, as we had Doug Mitchell in our kitchen, cooking wonderful Sweet & Sour Meatballs, a special Craisin Salad and a wonderful Strawberry Dessert. If you missed this one, you shouldn’t have. We serve absolutely excellent meals in here, with balanced nutrition at an absurdly low cost. Teddy Powell came in yesterday and helped Doug in the kitchen, to prepare for today. He had to be absent today, however…I have been visiting with Teddy about a “Slapjack Saturday” on a day in June, as evidently he is famous for these and a special syrup which he calls “Lickdab” Go figure. Old cowboys do have a different style of cooking. Stay tuned for our special Saturday, in June.
April has come and gone…really FAST! So, as we look forward to more stable weather in May, let’s plan on getting together in here. We have so much fun. …and if you haven’t been here, you are missing out!
I will be hosting a special Mother’s Day Brunch on Saturday, May 11th for LADIES, ONLY, BY RESERVATION ONLY. No children and no men, please. This is strictly to honor Mothers and Grandmothers. We know that the world wouldn’t turn very easily without these special people. I am truly hoping to have my COMPLETED NUMBER OF GUESTS NO LATER THAN MAY 7TH. We make NO reservations via Facebook. We are simply very busy, however since we do not wish to miss you, call us 357-2648!
We have so many wonderful things coming up in May, also. We have a presentation by 1st Bank, Chinook division on Tues., May 7th @ 1:00. We also have Bob Quinn coming on Tues., May 21st to share his tales of his trip to Antarctica @ 1:00. We will be hosting another super fun card party on Friday, May 17th. GET IN HERE!
