Lady Beeters continue to make us proud; Lady Cats' Season comes to an end

The Lady Beeters battled through a roller-coaster game to secure a 51-40 victory over Harlem in the opening round of the 2025 Northern B Divisional tournament Thursday in Malta. Chinook’s defense clamped down early, holding Harlem to 7 points in the first quarter. The offense delivered a narrow 22-17 halftime lead.

The Wildcats full-court press caused headaches for Chinook in the third, shrinking the margin to just three points. But Chinook found their second wind in the fourth, exploding for 20 points and sealing the deal. Alexus Seymour delivered a dominant performance, pouring in 22 points, while Brooke Fetter chipped in with a crucial 11. Despite a slow offensive start and weathering a fierce Harlem comeback, the Lady Beeters demonstrated resilience, punching their ticket to the next round with a decisive fourth-quarter surge.

On Friday it was a nail-biter but Chinook sealed a trip to the championship! In a highly anticipated fourth showdown with the Shelby Coyotes, Chinook emerged victorious, 47-41, in a semifinal that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Beeters came out firing in the second quarter, looking to seize control, but Shelby’s quick timeout stemmed the tide. The Coyotes responded with a surge, taking a 22-18 lead into halftime, leaving Chinook with work to do.

Some minor adjustments paid off. Chinook stormed back, tying the game at 22 early in the third. Shelby answered, but the Beeters kept showing their grit and grabbed a slim 29-28 lead heading into the crucial fourth quarter. With momentum firmly on their side, the Lady Beeters refused to relinquish their advantage. The girls turned their Beeter speed up a notch, holding off a determined Shelby squad and securing the victory! Saturday’s loss to Malta (47-37) has done nothing to deter the Beeter girls as they saddle up for Missoula on Thursday, March 13th against Florence-Carlton. Go Beeters!
