It is with great sadness that the family of Clark A. Jorns announces his passing on March 24, 2025. in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 84 years old and lived a full and accomplished life. He was born on February 5, 1941, in Havre, Montana, and raised in Chinook. He attended Chinook High School.
Clark was involved in 15 different businesses. He sold the Spokane Review at age 10 and at age 13 owned and operated Earl Clark Service Station. Clark enlisted in the US Air Force in 1959 and graduated from IBM school. He was stationed with the 337th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in Portland, Oregon, and received an honorable discharge from the Air Force. Clark was employed at the head office of US Bank in trust tax services. He studied commercial law at the American Institute of Banking, and attended Portland State College, majoring in accounting.
Clark moved back to Montana and was employed by Pacific Power and Light in Kalispell, where his Division Manager wrote that he saved the company millions of dollars. Clark and Lloyd Jorns (Slim) owned and operated El Cor Del Lanes in Glasgow. After selling that business, Clark was employed as controller for Blue Cross of Montana and Wenzel Consulting Engineers, where he designed and programmed software to handle parts inventory control that was approved to sell to GM dealers. Clark and his partner, Bert Tilleman, owned and operated National Farm and Ranch Newspaper, which was the largest farm newspaper in the world, containing 100 pages, a full-sized tabloid that was sold in Canada and the United States. Clark owned Business Systems Distributor in Everett, Seattle and Vancouver, WA. He was President of Cal-Pac of Santa Barbara, marketing mobility equipment all over California. He owned Montana's Castle in Solvang, CA. Clark was employed by ADP-NYSE, where he started as Account Manager and was Promoted to District Manager, where he was awarded District Manager of the Year in Europe, Canada, Mexico and South America. Clark was promoted to Director of the company during which time the company was doing $4 billion a year.
Clark was married to Arlene Correll of Kalispell.
Clark enjoyed golf, playing poker, bowling, and traveling. He won over 200 tournaments playing poker. He was employed by Chumash Casino in Solvang, CA, when he retired.
Clark moved to Las Vegas in 2006.
Clark was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; sister Muriel Jaha; mother and father, Lloyd and Nellie Jorns; and, long-time friend, Mary Smith of Kirkland, WA. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn McDowell, Knoxville, TN; his daughter, Kristene Nichols, Arlington, WA; son, Joel Jorns, Las Vegas, NV.
Clark will be missed by his friends, Frank and Cindy Shend, Las Vegas, NV; Richard and Sandy Baumgartner, Las Vegas, NV; and, many close friends from Chinook High School and the class of 1959.
