Theodore E. Delvin (TED) 85 passed away March 29, 2025 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas Nevada surrounded by family. Ted was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 18, 1939 to parents Thomas Delvin and Naomi (Stafford) Delvin. He went to school in Chicago, but due to health reasons the family moved and he started second grade in Harlem, Montana. He went on to graduate from Harlem High School in 1958. He attended Northern Montana College in Havre Montana and received a degree in drafting. He married the love of his life, Diane Hilderman, on July 7, 1968 in Goldendale Washington. They were blessed with a son, Thomas (TJ) Delvin in 1975. On August 19, 2006 the couple were sealed in the Billings Temple. A truly blessed day.
Ted was a mechanic and a journeyman electrician for Trig's Electric in Havre. When electrical work slowed down in the 80's he applied for a custodian position at Zurich School. This was convenient as they had moved to Zurich Montana in 1973. He worked there until he retired. Ted had a good work ethic and was always available to lend a helping hand.
He did many ZAP fundraisers. Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, cutting wood and pretty much anything that involved being outdoors. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting with his three grandkids. He loved the Golden Knights Hockey team and appreciated the many times MaryLynn would find the game for him on T.V. The highlight was when TJ and MaryLynn took him to a Knight's game for his birthday. Ted loved to play Aggravation and Canasta with family and friends. He also enjoyed Yahtzee and doing word search books in later years. He had a quick wit and a good sense of humor.
His daily walks in Vegas were filled with visiting people and he loved seeing the blooming roses and morning glories. He would bring some home that were given to him. Of course the highlight was watching hummingbirds and butterflies. Ted is survived by his wife, Diane of 57 years, son Thomas Delvin, daughter in-law MaryLynn Delvin, grandchildren Weldon, Tabitha and Zane Delvin all from Las Vegas, sister Joyce Fargher, The Dalles Oregon, nephews Rick, Jamie and Greg Filler. sister in-law Helen (Nina) Hilderman, nephews Wylie, Brian and Doug Hilderman and niece Eva Boots.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Delvin and Naomi Delvin, brothers Robert and Tom Delvin, brother in laws Edward Hilderman and Bud Fargher, nephews Lyle Hilderman and William Filler .
