John H. Young "Buddy"

It is with the greatest sorrow that the family of John H. Young, "Buddy," of Billings, Montana, announces his passing on May 6, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on July 29, 1955, in Fort Belknap, Montana, to Daisy Linthicum (Snell) and John Henry Young. He was the only brother to seven sisters. Buddy was an adored brother, uncle, son, and friend. He will be deeply missed by everyone's lives that he touched.

Buddy's favorite pastime was fishing. He had the privilege of fishing at various lakes, streams, and rivers in Montana and California with his family. He talked about going fly fishing with his nephew, Frankie, with the new fly fishing rods they recently purchased. Buddy also enjoyed researching classic vehicles. He loved his teal blue 1980 Chevy Stepside, but his vehicle of choice would have been a '57 Chevy Bel Air. Buddy was a storyteller, and his nieces and nephews enjoyed hearing him tell them about his life's adventures while playing cards and other games.

He is survived by his sisters Penny Young of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Lynda Young (Donald) of Fort Belknap, Montana; Donna Young of Fort Belknap, Montana; Cheryl Young of Visalia, California; Jackie Young-Gonzalez of Roseville, California; 30 nieces and nephews including his special nephew, Frankie, who cared for Buddy for the past 2 years until his death; great nieces and nephews; Aunt Bunny Peak; numerous cousins; and many friends. Buddy was preceded in death by his baby sister, Judy; mom; stepdad, Gene; dad; sister Kathy; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
