Frontier history writer/artist Dawn Newland, pictured here, will be in Landusky on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 27, to set headstones on two unmarked graves in a frontier cemetery. She will also be sharing her research about the two people in the unmarked graves and some other famous frontier characters from the Little Rockies. Dawn Newland describes herself as "a researcher, author, artist, and weaver of the threads of history." She lives and ranches on a spread situated where the corners of South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming meet. For the last two decades, among other projects, she's written historical pieces about frontier days in the Little Rockies and is currently writing an historical novel about Kid Curry (born Harvey Logan) and his exploits.
