Students Win Recognition

Another round of students from Meadowlark Elementary School in Chinook have been recognized for improvement and achievement. On Thursday, January 29, awards were presented during an assembly meant to honor students earning status as Accelerated Readers, Mountain Movers, and Students of the Month. Additionally, others obtained Recess Awards and the Principal's Award.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Awards went to EmMarie Eggleston and Naya Kelley, who collected their first AR Star by accumulating 100 points. For meeting that reading milestone, each received an AR Star t-shirt and a certificate. Another skilled reader, Kallie Barber earned her first rainbow after securing 200 points in the AR program.

For making improvements academically, socially, or behaviorally during the month of January, six students distinguished themselves as Mountain Movers. Winners of this distinction were Raylee Houtzel, Rickie Nieft, Remi Reed, Landen Sederdahl, Maverick Skoyen, and Dylann Strauser.

Another half dozen captured Student of the Month honors for January. Remington Kuhnhenn, Sylvi Harwood, Grayson Goodrich, Brixlee Hammond, Shea Flynn, and Riley Crane demonstrated outstanding effort, behavior, and academic performance to win in this category.

Recess Awards found their way to EmMarie Eggleston, Jenny Elliot, Naya Kelley, Dylann Strauser, Zyon Silva, and Kamille Shackelford. This group

exhibited respect and good sportsmanship on the playground.

"Students are doing great things at Meadowlark Elementary," Principal Danelle Gibson remarked.

Those earning the prestigious Principal's Award for exhibiting respect for school, self, and others were Caden Barber, Brinlee Collins, Quinn Fetter, Everett Goodrich, Justin Huravitch, Brynlee Nicholson, and Ridge Velk. This award further celebrates students for showing determination when faced with challenges, for demonstrating leadership and helping others, or by setting a good example and demonstrating self-control and a positive attitude.
