CREATION IS RESTFUL
You know, Lord, the lovely blue sky and the fluffy white clouds were lovely, then Jill popped over and said, “Today reminds me of way back in College Days when walking from classrooms, back to the dorm; we’d pause in the nearby park and rested a bit. Way back then, ‘Lilly’ came out about the same time; we’d sit, take it in, admiring the beauty of God’s creation, almost feeling the stress seeping away from us. ‘Lilly’ usually said: “God! Your creation is so beautiful and restful. Help me to make it a priority to stop right here after my class and enjoy it. This is almost like a worship service!”
“Where we were, there was a nearby ‘still lake’, a dozen trees or so, making a canopy of leaves; a starry sky, IF we made an evening stop. It was sweet peacefulness that seeped into our souls. The peacefulness of where we were was so special and restful. ‘Lilly’ mentioned she had a special Aunty who lived next door to her parents [in a nearby town]. Aunty would sometimes share Bible verses with us kids. The one I liked was 2 Samuel 7:22 – “How great You are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like You...” We loved looking at the lovely clouds and blue sky with our Aunty, and the glorious green lawn park, then she’d say: “The Lord is my shepherd’; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.
“That Park was on a hill; we could see part of the residential area and some of the town below these hills. We loved watching the clouds SLOWLY move across the blue sky. We both agreed that this was a place of REST.... then we’d hurry away to get our ‘work’ done, thanking the Lord for ‘green pastures’”.
Thank YOU, Lord, for Your lovely Creation!
