Dr. Larry Obie, a local optometrist for 48 years, will retire effective June 5th of this year. Dr. Obie practiced in the eye clinics in both Havre and Chinook. Dr. John Perez will join both clinics where Dr. Obie served. Dr. Obie and his wife, Loretta, plan to continue living in Havre and he will continue farming with his brother near Chinook.
Patients of Dr. Larry Obie, a local optometrist practicing in both Havre and Chinook, were likely surprised when they received a recent letter describing his plan to retire. Many patients, myself included, had heard Dr. Obie say, "I love what I am doing and hope I can continue doing it until I'm a hundred years old." He will leave both Havre and Chinook optometric practices on June 5, 2026.
