Letter to the Editor: Thank You

Thank you, Keith and Keri Hanson, owners and publishers of the Blaine County Journal and the Havre Weekly Record, for saving our local Havre newspaper. We are grateful for Havre friends to step up at a perfect time of need, to keep our community connected and informed. Your willingness speaks to your passion and to your understanding the value of local newspapers in our rural communities.

Local newspapers, as you well know, are very important to our daily lives. They are the key to the social and cultural fabric of our towns. Local papers foster community engagement, support, awareness and economic growth.

Community newspapers like the Blaine County Journal and Havre Weekly Record focus on the issues that matter to our readers, like city council decisions, local events, school activities along with the current public pulse. It has been very noticeable the huge disconnect in our community.

I am reaching to all of our Havre clubs, organizations/service clubs, non-profits, churches, schools and businesses to share your events and activities for the summer months. The earlier the publisher receives what is going on in Havre, the better able are make plans around what is happening.

Please email Keith and Keri your information to bcjnews@hotmail.com. Include photos and include what, where when and who. They need to received your information on Wednesday, for the next week’s paper, that comes out the following Wednesday.
