Atchison Appointed Hill County Commissioner for District 3

At the Hill County Commissioners meeting on May 21, District 3 Commissioner Bill Lanier, a Democrat, announced that he was resigning from his seat. His last day was May 25.

Lanier shared at his final meeting that he was stepping down due to a hostile work environment, citing various issues among different departments. Lanier's comments can be viewed on the video from the May 21 meeting on the hill county website.
