Mrs. Hasler's Kindergarten class visited the library to learn about the Summer Reading Program.

"Love is Never Silent" will be the movie at 1:00 p.m. today. A young woman struggles with her own need for independence and the obligation she feels for her hearing-impaired parents in this depression-era drama. A friend sees her turmoil and tells her she must find happiness on her own. However, the initial joy she finds in marriage starts to strain under the guilt she feels for deserting her parents and the bitterness they express towards her. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. "Mustang Country" will be the movie next week. We will continue movies through the end of May and then take a break for the summer.

We have had several large donations of books given to the library and the entryway is full of new additions. Stop in and spend some time looking through the books for sale. You may find a keeper, or two, or more!

Preparations continue for the Summer Reading Program. The Meadowlark Elementary students have been visiting the library this week. Parents, be on the lookout for our flyer, which will have information on all the fun things we have scheduled for the summer! Next week we will have more information on the events at the library this summer.

We have three movies ready for checkout this week: A Monster Calls, A Dog's Purpose, and Monster Trucks.

Are you ready to start your garden? We have two gardening books you might want to read. "The Water Saving Garden" by Pam Penick guides you in growing a gorgeous garden with a lot less water. "Victory Gardens for Bees" by Lori Weidenhammer is a DIY guide to saving the bees. We have three thrillers ready to go this week: "Summit Lake" by Charlie Donlea, "One by One" By Sarah Cain and "The Red Hunter" by Lisa Unger.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
