Chinook Lions win own Invitational, claim Team and Relay Titles

The Chinook Lions hosted their own Invitational and did so in fashion as they swam their way to an overall team championship amassing an astounding 1,100 points.

The Lions also secured the Relay championship as well as four individual High Point winners.

The Harlem swim team also showed up in force and swam very well and had a High Point winner as well.

Harlem's Taggert Devaney had a fantastic weekend in the pull in securing his High Point trophy and his teammates performed at a high level as well, "All the Harlem Swim Team swimmers had great performances and made me super proud," stated head coach Denise Devaney. "Tag got high point, he tied with Noah Majeras from Lewistown."

The Chinook Lions had two swimmers win High Points for the first time this season.

Dentin DePriest won his first ever High Point after swimming to victories in the boys 9-10, 100 Meter Individual Medley with a time of 1:45.69 a personal best by nearly 18 seconds.

DePriest also won the 9-10 Boys 50 Meter Breaststroke with a time of :51.70 besting his previous best mark by seven seconds. DePriest also took nearly fifteen seconds off his 50 Meter Butterfly to finish third in the event.

Benton Elliot won his first High Point of the season topping the 13-14 Boys.

Elliot won the 200 Meter Freestyle with time of 2:30.93 to finish just ahead of Harlem's Andrew Rasmussen who posted a time of 2:30.98.

Rasmussen and Elliot continued to push each other to perform at their best and in the 100 Meter Freestyle it was Elliot securing a first place finish with a time of 1:05.04. Rasmussen was right behind again with a time of 1:05.30.

Rasmussen won the High Point the first two weeks of the season and it will certainly be fun to watch these two great swimmers compete the rest of the summer.

Elliot also won the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of :29.10 while Rasmussen was victorious in the 200 Meter Individual Medley completing the four disciplines in 3:00.49.

Chinooks Daniel Tilleman won his third straight High Point finishing first in the 100 Meter Frestyle with a time of 1:25.62. He finished second in the 50 Meter Freestyle (:37.23) and second in the 50 Meter Breaststroke (:53.02).

Katie Tilleman also won her third straight High Point claiming the girls eight and under trophy with wins in the 25 Meter Breaststroke (:26.73, the 25 Meter Butterfly (:20.67) and the 25 Meter Backstroke (:23.62).

Chinook also received individual winning performances from Kohen Sullivan in the boys 9-10 50 Meter Backstroke winning the event with a time of :49.12. Lane Hassler was a winner in the boys 11-12 50 Meter Backstroke clocking in at :45.62.

Tyler Schoen won the boys 11-12 50 Meter Breaststroke touching the wall in :45.49. Brockton Elliot was the winner of boys 9-10 50 Meter Butterfly with a time of :4483. Erik Pula was the champion of the 13-14 boys 50 Meter Butterfly completing the two lengths of the pool in :41.33.

Devaney won the boys 15-19 200 Meter Individual Medley (2:49.84).

Harlem's Alaura Hawley won the girls 9-10 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:28.02. Alaynee Hawley won the girls 13-14 100 Meter Freestyle touching the wall in 1:14.91.

Swimmers will either head to Chester or Glasgow this weekend.
