William R. "Bill" Dritshulas, Jr., 86, passed away due to natural causes on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Northern Montana Care Center. Hello From the Chinook Senior Center We had great fun at the Sugar Beet Festival last Saturday, and even had some nice people ride a float with us! It is always fun to have people participate in these opportunities to share in our small, wonderful community! The YAV (Young Adult Volunteers), Griffon & Mercer ran alongside of our float and got lots of candy out there, to all of the kiddos, young and old. Chinook High School celebrated homecoming with a week of activities from September 15-20. The festivities began with hall decorations and culminated with sporting events. With the theme "Game on, Tornadoes," Turner Public School held their homecoming festivities on Friday, September 26. A parade, carnival, and coronations were all part of the celebratory agenda. Using the chosen theme, each class designed a float around the idea of a board or video game. The Class of 2026 won the float competition with a Mario Kart-themed float and the motto "Tornadoes Always Win the Race." On Monday, September 29, Meadowlark Elementary School held an awards assembly to recognize various students. Among the awards presented were a Recess Award, a Mountain Mover Award, and the Principal's Award. Students of the Month also received honors, as did students earning Accelerated Reader accolades.
