TIME CAPSULE FOUND: Tracking Down the Harlem Time Capsule

Next year, 2026, will be our nation’s Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Across the country, the year will be full of celebrations and events to ring in this major milestone.

But here in Blaine County, the town of Harlem may be celebrating in a unique way. Nearly 50 years ago in 1976, then the nation’s bicentennial, the people of Harlem put together a time capsule, stowed it away somewhere, and set it to be opened 50 years later.
