    On Monday, November 11, multiple signs honoring area veterans appeared on Main Street in Turner, Montana. Some were displayed in front of the post office; others appeared across from or flanked the American Legion Hall. These signs are the result of the Dog Tags to Honor Military Personnel project funded by the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) and Post 109.     The Hi-Line of North Central Montana played host to a jazz ensemble from Atlanta, Georgia, on November 5, and the students of Turner and Dodson schools were recipients of the talent of the Jazz Legacy Project (JLP). The group was the third in the Big Sky Series presented by the Northeastern Arts Network.   • Japanese Balloon Bombs reached Blaine County during World War II

    A friend shared a copy of a map showing nearly 30 known locations where Japanese Balloon Bombs, launched in Japan and carried across the Pacific Ocean by the jet stream, landed in Montana toward the end of World War II. Woodcutters near Kalispell were the first to see a balloon bomb in Montana. That was December, 1944. The remaining bombs found and identified in Montana were discovered in the spring of 1945.     The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team was back in Bozeman this past weekend competing in the Montana Class B State Volleyball Tournament. The Beeters last competed at the State Tournament in 2022. The All-Class State Volleyball Tournament was played in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University.
