November 30, 2016

The Chinook Alliance Church has undergone some major remodeling over the past year. The Annex located in the old L & L Pizza building was completed this past spring adding four class rooms. This latest addition adds approximately 30 seats to the Sanctuary. The space doubles as a reception hall for Weddings, Pot Lucks and social gatherings throughout the year.

The Chinook Alliance church has had their carpenter tools out for more than a year now as they continue expanding and improving their ability to serve the congregation.

This past spring the church completed renovation of the old L & L Pizza building the church had recently purchased.

The 'Annex' as its now known holds four classrooms, a Pastors office and opened up space in the foyer of the church for people to visit after outside of the Sanctuary.

Brent Schellin and his grandson Lance Pitkanen stand where on of the Sanctuary wall was removed to make space for the additional seating. Schellin has overseen a large part of the work being done to the Sanctuary and the Annex.

The latest renovation began near the end of October and removed a wall on the north-east corner of the Sanctuary with the intention of adding approximately 30 seats.

Brent Schellin has overseen much of the renovation since it began stated, "At times their was need for more room and this gives us that. In the future, if need be we could remove the kitchen (on the south-east corner) and pick up an additional 30 seats, but not right now.

The Sanctuary serves many purposes for the church beyond regular worship.

The added space will allow for wedding receptions, pot-lucks and a number of social gatherings to take place in a much more comfortable setting.

The building located at the very south end of Indiana Street also accommodates a Nursery/Pre-School for toddlers during functions.

The church is always looking for ways to expand, "That's the name of the game, right," concluded Schellin.
