City Filing Deadline rapidly approaching

Anyone interested in running for a City Office in the September 12 Primary Election can file a Declaration of Nomination form at the Blaine County Clerk and Recorder’s Office beginning Thursday, May 20, 2017. The Declaration of Nomination form will be accepted through June 19, 2017.

The City Offices that are up for Election are as follows: CITY OF HARLEM: Mayor – 4 year term; Councilperson East Ward – 4 year term; Councilperson West Ward – 4 year term. CITY OF CHINOOK: Mayor – 4 year term; Councilperson East Ward – 4 year term; Councilperson West Ward – 4 year term; Councilperson West Ward – 2 year term.

The filing fees are as follows: CITY OF HARLEM: Mayor - $48.00; Councilperson - $15.00. CITY OF CHINOOK: Mayor - $65.52; Councilperson - $25.53.

Any person interested in filing for a city office may do so by obtaining a Declaration of Nomination form from the Blaine County Clerk and Recorder’s Office at the County Courthouse, 420 Ohio St., Chinook, MT meeting the necessary qualifications and paying the appropriate filing fees.

Declaration of Nomination forms for the September 12 Primary Election will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017. Anyone having questions related to the City Election is encouraged to call Sandra L. Boardman, Blaine County Election Administrator at (406) 357-3240 or stop in the Clerk and Recorder’s Office.
