Sugarbeeters compete well in Shelby, Fort Benton

Chinook Senior Kade Friede

The Chinook Sugarbeeter Golfers continue to improve each time out and this past weekend at the Sunburst/Valier Invitational held in Shelby The Sugarbeeters had another qualify for the State C Meet in Seeley next month.

Senior Kelsey Mathon shot a 116 to join senior Charlie Anderson, junior Carrie Hofer and sophomore Ashley MacLeod as State Qualifiers giving the Sugarbeeter girls a full compliment of athletes to compete as a team at the state meet.

Senior Kade Friede continues to compete very well on the links for the Sugarbeeters finishing second at the Sunburst/Valier Invitational with a round of 83.

Friede was playing very well again on Monday in Fort Benton as he won a chip off to finish third with a round of 88.

Chinook Senior Kelsey Mathon

Junior Jacob Huckabee has also qualified on the boys side for the Sugarbeeters and has played very well this spring. Huckabee shot a 93 in Shelby.

Junior Tamer Jamieson shot a 110 in Shelby and followed with another 110 in Fort Benton.

Senior Trevor Reid fired a round of 118 in Shelby and 125 in Fort Benton. Sophomore Ty Overcast recorded a round of 127.

On the girls side it was Hofer with a 106 in Shelby to lead the girls. Sophomore Ashley MacLeod was one stroke back with a 107. Anderson finished with a 131 and freshman Alyssa Gruszie shot a 137.

In Fort Benton Gruszie recorded a non marked round of 115, MacLeod scored a round of 126 and freshman Kendra McMaster finished her eighteen holes with a 139.
