98-96? Thunderbirds fall to Stars in 8-Man Football home opener

The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds kicked off their 2017 football season at home this past Saturday welcoming the Rocky Boy Stars to town.

The Thunderbirds and Stars are accustomed to playing games against each other where the score reaches 90, but those are usually in Winter during the basketball season.

Saturday the teams combined for 194 points in a game won in overtime by Rocky Boy 98-96.

The Stars led early 28-14 but the Thunderbirds kept clawing back. Moke Cliff scored late in the fourth quarter to give the Thunderbirds a 90-84 but the Stars force overtime.
