Chinook Senior Center

February 21, 2018

I hope everyone had a very nice President’s Day weekend. The weather is still a little too cold, but it is nice and warm here at the center.

Be sure to come see my favorite movie, “A River Runs Through It” on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. It stars Brad Pitt and was filmed in Missoula. It’s quite an award winning masterpiece by Robert Redford.

We have fresh baked cinnamon rolls every Thursday morning for $1 each. Please call a week ahead if you want more than six.

We will be playing Jackpot Bingo with Ray Reid on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. Last week’s Blackout winner was Irene Wendeln.

Friday, is the February Birthday Party and 50/50 Raffle. The Kitchen Band will be entertaining us and after lunch we will play Pinochle. Last Friday we had two tables playing. Mike Randall and Amy Belle Smith tied for high score and Virginia Olson had low score. They sure have a lot of fun.

Lauren LaMonica is back from Mexico, so our Strong People exercise class will resume on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

Shanghai Rummy is played every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Last week’s winner was Amy Belle Smith.

Don’t forget Whist is played on Wednesday, Feb. 28. We had two tables going last time.

Thank you to Joyce McSloy for making ice cream for our Bingo group. It was very good!

We are having a raffle for the beautiful “Double Wedding Ring” quilt donated by the late Norma Wisch. It is on display here at the center. Tickets are 6 for $5 or $1 each. The drawing will be on St. Patrick’s Day.

Stop by and see us at the center… the coffee is always on!
