Blaine County Library

July 3, 2019

The library will be closed Thursday July 4th in observation of Independence Day. We will be open regular hours Friday.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Montana Conversations program "Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials" with Joan Bird last Wednesday. Bird presented a very interesting program. Funding for the Montana Conversations program is provided by Humanities Montana through grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Montana's Cultural Trust, and private donations.

Summer Reading Programs are well underway. It's not too late to sign children up to participate. Children who participate in the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. We have fun programs and events for children of all ages. We have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests for Chinook schools and Zurich.

Are you planning a trip and thinking about ways to make the miles more tolerable? We have downloadable audio and eBooks available to our patrons with MontanaLibrary2Go. There are many books appropriate for the whole family. You need to download the Libby app to the device you will be using, this can be a phone, Kindle or laptop. You will need your library card number and an Internet connection to download the books. Once a book is downloaded, you don't need an Internet connection to listen or read. Patrons have the title for 2 weeks and then it is automatically returned. Each library card can have 5 titles checked out at a time. More information and instructions are available on our website. If you need your library card number, just give us a call or come in to the library. If you have problems, staff is available to walk you through the process.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
