Harlem Harriers run well at Poplar Invitational

The Harlem and Hays/Lodge Pole Cross Country teams were in Poplar this past Saturday taking part in the Indians Invitational which featured some of the top runners in the eastern half of Montana and North Dakota as well.

Harlem senior, L’Tia Lawrence, ran one of her best races of the season but for the first time this year she didn’t cross the finish line first. Lawrence ran the race in an incredible time of 18:39.25, just three seconds behind Williston, North Dakota’s Eleni Lovegren.

Joining Lawrence in the top ten of the elite event was Wildcat sophomore, Taya Trottier, who earned a sixth place finish with an effort of 20:49.00.

Wildcat senior, Brad Cichosz, continued his strong season with a fourth place finish in Poplar, crossing the finish line in 16:14.31. Daniel Lawrence finished fourteenth. Truth Brockie, Titan Brockie and Landen Grey also competed for the Wildcats in Poplar.

The Thunderbirds sent three individuals to the Poplar Invitational, Kassie Buckles Perez on the girls side and Randy Perez and Bill Quincy for the boys.
