One thing I keep hearing is that the Senior Center is for old people….No, it’s not!! It’s a place to come together and socialize with one another, no matter how old or young you are. Some come to socialize over coffee; some come to play games (cards\bingo) and socialize; and some come to get their socializing in over a bite to eat. The point is that this is a place to come and visit with your neighbor from across the way; no matter if it’s across the road, town, or the county. So come on in and check us out, and if you have any suggestions for activities that you and others may like to do, please let me know about it.
On Tuesday, I taught Virginia Olson how to play Push (card game), she won the second game we played. Way to go, Virginia.
Wednesday we played Whist and Judy Chapman had the high with 51, and Vernelia Tilleman had the low with 21.
Thursday was Bingo and Maxine Harrison won the blackout.
Friday the music starts at 10:00 a.m. and Pinochle will be played at 1:00 p.m.
Our activities start at 1 p.m. Our activities include Pinochle on Monday, Shanghai Rummy on Tuesday, Scrabble, Whist or other cards on Wednesday afternoons, Bingo on Thursday, and Pinochle on Friday. Anyone is welcome to join us.
We have fresh baked cinnamon rolls every Thursday morning for $1 each. Please call by Tuesday if you want more than six.
Anyone and everyone of any age are welcome to join us at the center for lunch and activities. There are no age requirements. Please feel free to join us. It is recommended that if you are joining us for lunch that you give us a call by 10 a.m. for the cook to have the ability to prepare enough food. The suggested donation for lunch is $5 for age 60 and over and $6 for under the age of 60.
