During these uncertain times, MSU Blaine County Extension is striving to provide an even higher level of service as we try to manage in this unknown time we are living in. Here at the MSU Blaine County Extension Office, we are still trying to work as “normal.” We are being directed by MSU Extension to begin working remotely as of Monday, March 30th until told to return to our normal operation.

MSU Extension has started a new webpage that has resources for everyone in all types of situations. This includes resources and information on Community Health, for Families and Children, Agriculture Producers, and Business and Communities. At MSU Extension, we will continue our mission of getting research based information to everyone who needs it. With that in mind, all of the MSU Extension MontGuides (do it yourself informational guides) are available at https://store.msuextension.org/. This site includes many free downloads with research based information to help you. We are also working on scheduling online sessions for you to participate in from your home. We will get information to you as soon as it becomes available. If you are unable to get online but want more information on topics, please let us know. We would be happy to assist you.

Economic Impacts of Coronavirus in Montana
The recent economic impacts of CV-19 are wide spread and evolving quickly. George Haynes, Kate Fuller and Joel Schumacher, Extension Specialists are providing an economists view of how the recent events are impacting different sectors of the economy. Tuesday Tips
Dr. Marsha Goetting, MSU Extension Family Economics Specialist, will be hosting several 30 minute webinars planned for the next few weeks. Our MSU Blaine County Extension Facebook page will be updated daily with new information. Like https://www.facebook.com/BlaineCountyExtension/?ref=bookmarks We will include web sessions and information that will be helpful to you during this time.If you need samples submitted during this time, please contact Juli at the email above or leave a message at the office. We will work out a way to help you submit feed, soil, water, and seed samples. We still have our hay and soil probes available if you need them. If you need plant or insect identification, please send images to Juli and she will assist you. It is also time to start your yard and garden work, if you have issues or have questions, please let Juli know.
MSU Extension works with the Montana Department of Agriculture to provide testing and licensing for the Montana Private Pesticide Applicator Program. We are working on addressing many issues around providing this service during this time. As many of you with private pesticide licenses are aware, this year, everyone in our District 3 must have 6 credits or their licenses will expire at the end of the year. We are working to come up with options for anyone looking to get licensed. Extension Agents across the state are working with our Pesticide Program Coordinator and the Montana Department of Ag to get answers to everyone. As soon as we know the direction the program will be taking, we will get that information out.
We have resources available for anyone who needs to hold a meeting and does not know how to host it online. Please contact us and we will assist you.
