"Show What You Grow" Contest Coming to a Close

From 23 Sesame Street, the broadcast team with Virginia’s Home for Public Media announced on April 27 that “while the pandemic brings many uncertainties, there is one thing we can count on; it is officially growing season.” With that statement, they kicked off their “Show Us What You’re Growing” contest, and other broadcast teams have picked up the idea.
As an imitation, Montana Ag Live, a regular call-in information program dealing with agricultural and gardening issues in Montana, launched their “Show What You Grow” Photo Contest. Anyone interested in participating has three more days to submit a photo or photos.
Presented by MontanaPBS in association with Montana State University Extension, Montana Ag Live (MAL) invites experts onto a panel to discuss everything from pesticide use and large-scale agricultural techniques to backyard gardening questions.
Aware that many people are gardening for their mental well-being this year, maybe even raising chickens, a spokesperson with MAL invited: “We want you to show us what you’re working on in your yard, backyard garden, patio garden, on your ranch, or wherever you’re planting this summer. Whether you have a few succulents that sit in your kitchen window or an entire vegetable garden, let’s show what you grow!”
Anyone interested in participating should send their entries to MAL on Facebook Messenger or attach them in an email to online@montanapbs.org. Email submissions should be sent with the subject line: MT Ag Live Photo Contest 2020. Photo entries are being accepted until July 31.
Eligible to send up to five photographs per person per household, contestants can even submit on behalf of a family, group, class or organization. The photos entered must be the original work of the entrant, and in order to win prizes, individuals must also be Montana residents.
Even though photo captions are not required, they are encouraged. Captions should not only be fewer than 90 words but be a true representation of the image. Hard copy photo submissions will be accepted and can be mailed to P.O. Box 174430, Bozeman, MT 59717, ATTN: Digital Content. Any accompanying text should be printed/written legibly or typed.
MontanaPBS reserves exclusive rights to all photo submissions to be used on-air, online, or for any future printed promotional materials. In addition to that publicity, photographers will receive some MontanaPBS schwag. Winners will be announced in August.
