February 10, 2021

sign as President/CEO of Independence Bank effective this coming April. Hamilton has been with the Bank since 2000 and served as President/CEO since April 2004. Hamilton will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. "I've enjoyed the opportunity to work with a great group of people at Independence Bank. Working together we have been able to successfully grow the Bank. Our focus has always been on service to our customers, knowing that our success would be reflected in our customers success. Because of our people and loyal customers, Independence Bank has a bright future. "

In April, the Board of Directors of Independence Bank will name Bill Keller as the Bank's President/CEO. Keller has been with the Bank since 1997, has served as Executive Vice President since April 2016, and has been a member of the Board of Directors since April 2015. "We are pleased to have someone of Bill's caliber and experience to take on the role of President," said Board Chair Greg Baltrusch. "Bill may have come up through the loan side of our Bank, but Bill is also knowledgeable about all areas of the Bank. Bill has the benefit of an outstanding group of talented people working with him. The Board and I believe the Bank will be successful for many years to come."

Kay Mayer also announced her plans to retire from Bank employment at the end of April. Mayer recently resigned as Vice President of Human Resources. Mayer has been with the Bank since 1978. She has served in too many roles at the Bank to mention. "Over the years as the Bank grew, Kay was the person who took on many of the responsibilities demanded by that growth," said President Hamilton. "Kay's importance to the success of the Bank cannot be measured. It can be found in all the small and large contributions she has made over the years. The accumulation of which have left a lasting and profoundly positive impact on our Bank. Fortunately, Kay will continue to serve as corporate secretary for both the Bank and our holding company, Montana Security, Inc."

Andy Carlson has joined the Bank as Vice President of Human Resources. Andy grew up in Auburn Washington and attended and graduated from Northern Montana College. After graduation, Carlson never left the Hi-Line, beginning his education career with the KG School District. In 2000, he began working for the Havre School District and retired from education in 2020.

Carlson is excited about the prospect of serving as the Vice President of Human Resources for Independence Bank as it presents a new personal challenge and the opportunity to remain on the Hi-Line. "I really enjoy this area and all that it has to offer. Havre and the Hi-Line have been a tremendous place to start and raise a family. I feel blessed for all that has been available to me from the moment I first came to MSU-Northern". Starting his position at Independence Bank was a reunion of sorts as several former students or family members of former students work at Independence Bank.
