6th Annual Chinook Golf Course Community Dinner & Auction is Saturday

June 22, 2022

Summer is finally here! The Hi-line finally received a pretty good few days of rain and the Chinook Golf Course is really starting to green up. Coming up this Saturday at the Blaine County Fairgrounds is the 6th Annual Chinook Golf Course Community Dinner and Auction Fundraiser. Ginger Hansen has done a remarkable job through the years hosting this event and this year's event looks to be spectacular once again.

A very dry fall and winter closed out 2021 and an even dryer winter and spring began 2022 as severe drought continues to hit the Hi-line hard. Course Superintendent Mike Seymour along with Mike Jones have done a fantastic job getting the course into shape. The tools and equipment needed to get the course into playing shape requires constant maintenance and repair. Everyday something needs to be repaired or replaced and the costs needed to do so is skyrocketing. The Chinook Golf Course is member owned and operated with the bulk of its funding coming from membership dues, tournaments and men's league. Day to day golfers that stop by to play as well as cart fees help for sure, but the biggest single contributor to the course's operating budget comes from the Community Dinner.

Festivities will get underway at 5:00 p.m. with a preview of the items to be auctioned off as well as a Beverage Bar being provided by the Chinook Eagles Club. Barbecued Baby Back Ribs are the main attraction of the dinner. Side dishes, desserts and more will accompany the ribs with help from some wonderful women who happen to be outstanding cooks. Dinner will be served from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The Live Auction will begin at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Kevin Elias. At the conclusion of the Live Auction Steve Warburton will DJ until the lights go out.

This event is for everyone, it is truly a family event with something for everyone to enjoy. It is a great community event that provides friends and family with a great setting to visit, catch up and enjoy an evening together while supporting a worthy cause. With lots of door prizes to be given away, how can anyone go wrong!

All funds generated from the dinner go directly to upkeep and maintenance of the local course. Chinook is very lucky to be a small town with such a spectacular place to get away and enjoy the great outdoors just a couple miles away.

Checkout the Chinook Golf Course Facebook page to stay updated on the latest happenings. The 27 Hole Triple Play Two Person/Team Tournament is this Sunday. The Fireball 4-person scramble is set for August 20 and the Chinook Lions Swim Team 4-person scramble will take place August 27. Additional Tournaments and events may be added.
