Fair Foundation Brewfest Draws A Nice Crowd

February 8, 2023

The fourth annual Brewfest was held this past Saturday at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. The Brewfest is a major fundraiser for the Blaine County Fair Foundation and goes to help fund the Blaine County Fair each year. This year's Brewfest went off without a hitch, the Vendors all showed up, the beer was cold, and a good time was had by all.

Blaine County Fair Manager, Debbie Ramberg said the Foundation was thrilled by the support the Brewfest drew, "We had a great crowd and great entertainment. There were 20 beers on tap, and we had something for everyone. We purchased two cases of wine from Wine Shop from Home and pretty much went through most of that." The entertainment for the evening was provided by comedian, Kip Attaway who professes to be America's Premier Cowboy Comedian. "Kip did a great job, and everyone enjoyed him.

The Brewfest has become a hit during the cold of winter and organizers couldn't be more pleased, "The Fair Foundation Board was very pleased with the evening. We couldn't do it without our many great sponsors, we simply could not put on these events without them, it simply would not be possible. We would also like to thank everyone that came to the Brewfest and for supporting our foundation," said Ramberg.

Come August everyone in the community is looking forward to the fair and enjoying everything that it may have to offer. Securing acts, vendors, entertainment takes time, effort and of course money. With costs skyrocketing, pressure to find affordable entertainment for the fair can become increasingly difficult and events like the Brewfest serve that purpose. "The funds we raise will go towards supplementing our fair. We are bringing in a bigger name for entertainment Saturday night and as most have heard, there will not be a Derby this year." Ramberg goes on to explain, "There are several reasons for this turn of events. First, our later fair date put us at the end of the year, the car numbers have been down as well and so has as the attendance. Secondly the insurance changed and became an added expense. Lastly Glasgow has moved their fair date to the same weekend, so with all of that happening we all decided we needed a change. Our Brewfest funds will help with our new venture. As soon as we have a contract, we will announce our entertainment."

The Blaine County Fair recently began conducting a Facebook survey of what people would like to see for entertainment stating, "We are trying to narrow down our Headlining Act for the 2023 Blaine County Fair concert to be held on Saturday, August 12th. Below is a list of artists who are still available and in our price range." Those Artists included Morgan Evans, Jana Kramer, Danielle Bradberry, Chancey Williams, and Darryl Worley. Whatever decision is made be sure the Fair Foundation is doing its best to bring the Blaine County Fair top notch entertainment. Stay tuned!
