Millie & Gary Smith, Terry Tilleman Receive MHSA Super Fan Certificates

Sportsmanship is something that is essential in providing a good athletic environment for student athletes to participate in. To promote this practice the Montana High School Association (MHSA) adopted policies to encourage it. In 2017, a partnership was formed between the MHSA and Stockman Bank to create a couple of programs to 'Promote and reward good sporting behaviour by players, coaches and spectators at interscholastic activities. The MHSA/Stockman Bank Sportsmanship Program offers two distinct forms of recognition for positive behaviours. First, a program that awards 'Sportsmanship Medals' to players from each team at the conclusion of a contest recognizing their sportsmanlike behaviour at regular season games. The second, being a certificate program, known as the 'Super Fan Program', to honour long-time supporters of a school recognizing their long-standing efforts to support its high school activities.
During the 'Beeters final home contest of the regular season against the North Star Knights Friday night, Anna Terry and Hannah Schoen representing the Chinook High School Pep Club presented Gary and Millie Smith as well as Terry Tilleman for their ultimate commitment to supporting Chinook High School Activities. Chinook Pep Club Anna Terry was thrilled to present the award, "They are all so deserving!" So how did the idea of presenting the three come about, "A few weeks ago, at a pep club meeting, we had a heartfelt discussion about the impact Millie, Gary, and Teri have had on us. From this discussion, the idea to recognize their dedication by presenting them with the MHSA Super Fan Award was born!"
These three 'Super Fans' can be seen at every home sporting event as well as many road games and tournament locations. All three are past employees of the High School and have been actively supporting Chinook athletics, academics and every other function the school has held for more than 60 years. Their dedication and support are like none other and the designation 'Super Fan' is truly fitting.
Terry is the CHS Pep Club president, and members include Addison Olsen, Hannah Schoen, Mara Edwards, Sarah Gillett, Sasha Kuntz, Alexus Seymour, Aspyn Colby, Brianna Boettcher, Carson Kelly, Cayla Hofer, Quentin Edwards, and Kiera Hellman.
