The QuickBooks class will begin this Friday, June 7, from 9:00 -noon. You do not need to preregister, but please bring a laptop and the $20 fee for the series. This is a five session class and the other meeting dates are June 14, 21, 28 and July 12. The instructor will be Lori Owens. You may earn 15 credits through Aaniiih Nakoda College by attending all session. This class will cover basic bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online. You may take the class in person or virtually. Please contact the library for more information.

Children are still encouraged to register for the summer reading program “Adventure Begins at Your Library!” Prizes may be earned for minutes read and include gift cards from Paradise Shave Ice, The Corner Hub, Milk River Pharmacy and EZ Mart. Also children may earn chances to win the grand prizes by meeting their weekly goals and attending programs. The weekly programs include Summer Steam for elementary students on Mondays from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M .; Storytime for children ages 0-5 and their parents/caregivers on Tuesdays from 10:00 -11:00 and Lego Club for all age on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:00 P.M. Children under five must be accompanied by an adult.

Teens and adults may also take part in summer reading. For each book read or listened to your name will be entered to win a $50 gift card at the conclusion of the program

The Book Challenge for June is to read an adventure book. When you complete the challenge contact the library to have your name entered to win a gift certificate from a local business.

Check out the library website at http://www.harlempubliclibrary.org. The website has a new look but the same great information to keep you up-to-date on all the happenings at the library and links to information you need.

If you do not have a library card we encourage you to sign up. If you are age 16 or older you may register by presenting a valid current photo ID, a working phone number and mailing address. The card will be mailed to you. When you receive the card bring it to the library and you may check out one item. When that item is returned on time in good condition, you may have regular privileges which include checking out as many books as you feel comfortable with and two DVDs. Children ages 8-15 may obtain their own card if a parent comes with them and brings a valid current ID. Electronic devices may be checked out by adults 18 and over thirty days after they have earned regular privileges. We have limited use cards available for those people who do not have the the required documentation.

New titles ready for your summer reading pleasure include thrillers “The Reaper Follows” by Heather Graham, “One of Us Knows” by Alyssa Cole, “Daughter of Mine” by Megan Miranda, and “A Killer on the Hill” by Robert Dugoni.

Anne Lamott’s latest nonfiction work is “Somehow: Thoughts on Love.” Lamott explores the power of love in our lives and how it surprises us, forces us to confront uncomfortable truths, reminds us of our humanity, and guides us forward.

Two new historical mysteries are “Death in the Details” by Katie Tietjen and “Under the Paper Moon” by Shaina Steinberg.
