Beeters win plenty on Chinook Mixer night
It was a busy week for the Chinook wrestling teams, as the Sugarbeeters wrestled four different days.
The week started last Tuesday, as Chinook hosted its only home meet of the season, the Chinook Mixer, where the Beeters won plenty of matches. It was also Senior Night in Chinook.
Chinook then traveled down the road to Harlem to wrestle in the rival Harlem Mixer on Wednesday night.
This past weekend, the Beeters took part in the B-C Duals in Townsend, where Chinook faced a lot of really tough competition.
In the boys B-C Duals, the Beeters were in pool play last Friday. Chinook fell to top-ranked Huntley Project, 70-12. Chinook did get a tie with Jefferson County, 42-42, in round two of pool play. In round three, the Beeters battled but fell to Anaconda, 45-30. The Beeters then lost to Whitehall, 48-36.
The Chinook girls took part in a big tournament over the weekend, the 2026 Golden Eagle Girls Invitational in Lewistown.
The Sugarbeeters scored 54 points, which was good for a solid 11th-place finish. The tournament featured over 30 girls teams, including many from Class AA.
Leading the way for the Beeters was Bailey Billmayer, who placed second at 120 pounds, and Lynley Conrad, who was second at 170. Kimber Klein also took fourth at 100 pounds, and Kyra Berreth was sixth at 116 pounds.
There are just two weeks left in the regular season for Chinook wrestling. The Beeters will be back in action this weekend with the annual Malta Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Beeters will close out the regular season with a dual against Harlem on Feb. 3.
