It’s the busiest time of the season for the Havre High tennis teams, and this tough stretch started last weekend at the Class A Invite in Cut Bank.
The Havre tennis teams played duals against Polson, Hamilton, Libby and Cut Bank last weekend, and the competition was really good for the Ponies.
Things started last Friday where the Havre boys fell to Polson 5-2 with victories coming from Wyatt Jelly in singles and Max Spangler and Carter Chagnon in doubles. The Havre girls lost to Polson 6-1, but did get a great win by Kali Schubert at No. 1 singles. In the second dual of the day, Havre dominated the Hamilton boys 6-1 as Jordan Heninger, Jelly and Kenan Kaftan all won in singles, while Havre swept the doubles. The Hamilton girls beat the Ponies 7-0 in a tough dual for the young Havre squad.
The Ponies returned to Cut Bank last Saturday. The Pony boys dropped a tough dual to Libby 5-2, as Jelly won in singles and Spangler and Chagnon were victorious in doubles. The Havre girls beat the Loggers 4-3, as Schubert and Rylee Heninger won in singles, while Jiadyn Cole and Mackenzie Hanson and Kaylee Rider and Tashae Wolf Child won in doubles.
