Turner girls shine at Winifred Track Meet

Another meet, another great showing by the Turner girls track and field team.

Last weekend, the Tornadoes took part in the Winifred Track Meet, where the Turner girls placed third overall with 82 points. Turner finished only behind DGS and District 9C rival North Star. The Turner boys scored one point in the meet as well.

The Turner girls got plenty of points individually, including from Rosie Day, who placed third in the 100 meters, while Ali Doyle won the 200 with a time of 26.61. Hannah Van Voast also placed sixth in the 200, while Bridget Reed won the 400 in 1:01.89, while Van Voast was again sixth.

The outstanding meet for the Tornadoes continued with Reed winning the 100 hurdles and Doyle placing second. The duo did the exact same thing in the 300 hurdles, while Abby Grabofsky took second in the long jump.

Brady Zellmer scored a point for the Turner boys as he finished sixth in the triple jump.

Turner also competed in the rescheduled Whitewater Invitational this past week, and will next run in the Havre Lions Invitational on May 2 in Havre.
