Glen Eizoo Terry, 68, affectionately known as "Eizoo," passed away suddenly in the early hours of May 15, 2026, from a heart attack.
Born January 10, 1958, Eizoo was the seventh of Glen Mason Terry and Helen Lucille Broesder Terry's nine children. He was raised on the family ranch in Virgelle, Montana, along the banks of the Missouri River.
Eizoo attended Big Sandy Public Schools before graduating from Chandler High School in Arizona in 1978. After graduation, he returned to Montana, where he spent many years immersed in ranching and horsemanship. He became widely respected across the state for his extraordinary ability with horses.
In 1990, Eizoo met the love of his life, Celesta Wade. Theirs was a love story full of passion, laughter, dancing, and enduring devotion. In 1992, they purchased the first of their family businesses, the D&L Bar and Casino in Box Elder, Montana, and together built a life. They lived just behind the bar, and Eizoo was proud to say he "walked to work every day," opening the doors at 10 a.m. like clockwork for over 30 years. Eizoo and Celesta went on to purchase The Lone Tree Bar and Casino in Box Elder in 1999 and The Club Bar and Casino in Big Sandy in 2015.
Eizoo was proud of the life he built. He persistently carved out his own path through relentless work, sharp instincts, resilience, and an unwavering belief in doing things his own way. He loved asking questions, challenging ideas, and thinking deeply about the world. Family gatherings often turned into spirited discussions about politics, culture, history, and life itself - conversations his family will miss dearly.
Though known for his toughness and strong opinions, Eizoo also possessed an extraordinary gentleness. He was endlessly patient with children and animals alike, and he had a rare ability to make people laugh, feel safe, and feel understood. His humor, storytelling, and unmistakable presence filled every room he entered.
Above all else, Eizoo was proud of his family. He was a deeply devoted father to his children, Logan and Dakota, and an incredibly proud grandfather to Logan's four children. He loved his family fiercely and found tremendous joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow.
Eizoo had recently begun preparing for retirement and was looking forward to spending more time with his children and grandchildren, caring for his beloved wife, Celesta, and mother-in-law, Carol, and enjoying the quieter chapters of life he had worked so hard to earn.
Eizoo was preceded in death by his father, Glen Mason Terry; his mother, Helen Lucille Broesder Terry; and his infant sister, Glenda Gayle Terry.
Eizoo is survived by his devoted wife, Celesta; his daughter, Dakota Terry; his son, Logan Terry, and daughter-in-law, Julie; and his cherished grandchildren, Anna, Brooklyn, Christian, and Miles. He is also survived by his siblings, Neislena (Dave) Otto, Clare (Ed) Allderdice, Kathy (Larry) Jones, Judy (Tom) Daughenbaugh, Loren (Willie) Terry, Annette Bratz, and Tami (Arlin) Bratz, along with enumerable nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
He leaves behind a family who adored him, a community he enjoyed, and a legacy defined by hu-mor, intellect, grit, curiosity, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Jerry Martin Memorial Hall in Big Sandy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
