After 50 years of being locked away, the Harlem Time Capsule will be unveiled to the public this July.
Readers of this paper’s previous article on the Harlem Time Capsule will recall that in 1976, to mark this nation’s Bicentennial, the citizens of Harlem gathered various pieces of memorabilia and put them away in a time capsule, sealed and not to be opened for 50 years. The sands of 50 years have now fallen to the bottom of the hourglass and it is now time for the capsule to be opened.
Starting on July 1, 2026 the public will be able to get a glimpse of the contents of this capsule.
