Lights begin preparing for tough 2026 Schedule

As August arrives, the Montana State University-Northern football team will begin gearing up for another season under head coach Jerome Souers.

And it won’t be an easy schedule for the Lights, who will start training camp in just a few days.

Northern will open the season with a historic Thursday night game at arch rival Carroll College on Aug. 27. It will be Northern’s first Thursday night game in over a decade, and it willl be the first time the Lights have played Carroll under the lights at the remodeled Nelson Stadium in Helena.
