Thirteen members of the Chinook Chapter of the FFA attended Fall Districts in Lewistown on October 3 when eighteen teams from across Montana competed in Livestock Judging and Horse Evaluation. Just in time for homecoming and the 2023 Sugarbeet Festival, a hay sculpture turned up on September 27 just west of Alfalfa Road. Two stacked round bales feature the Sugarbeeter mascot head, black, orange, and white paint, and the message, "Go Beeters" on the base. Some twigs jut from the upper most bale to resemble a beet top. This past Sunday, September 24, Havre Trails partnered with Hays-Lodgepole High School science teacher Rod Benson, who offered a hike to Hole in the Wall and Mission Ridge in Mission Canyon just outside of Hays, Montana. The Chinook Rod and Gun Club received official notification on August 31 that they had received a grant award from the Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) in a program to improve safety at gun and archery ranges.
