    A few years back the Montana State Legislature passed a law that allowed the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks service to offer 'Free Fishing weekends. These weekends were to coincide with the Mother's Day and Father's Day holidays.     The Harlem City Pool opened at noon on Wednesday, June 1 for the season. Anyone interested in purchasing a pool pass or signing up for swim lessons can do so with the Pool Manager during pool hours. Lyle Falkinberry will serve as the Pool Manager in Harlem this year. He released the Pool Schedule last week.   • An Improved Chinook City Pool Opened Last Week

    On May 24, the Chinook City Pool saw one major step in its upgrade process. A new chlorinator was purchased and installed with funds from the Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation (FPPF). The installation occurred just in time for the summer swim season. Lifeguard training took place June 1 and 2 with the pool opening on June 3.     On Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm the American Lutheran Church in Harlem will be conducting a food drive for the Harlem Food Bank. The other churches in Harlem will be assisting with the project as well. We are asking all residents to have some food ready in a sack or box so it can be picked up by a volunteer.     The Montana Federation of Swimmer summer season kicked off this past Saturday and Sunday as Harlem hosted the first meet on the schedule.     The 2022 Bear Paw Marathon took place this past Saturday and a number of Blaine County Runners took to the course. Five competed in the full marathon, just two runners completed the half marathon and 13 women and six men ran the 5K. Ages ranged from 5-62 and represented Chinook, Harlem, Hays and Zurich.
