    The Chinook Chapter of the FFA held its Annual Recruitment Barbecue and Trap Shoot on Sunday, September 7. The event was hosted at the Chinook Rod and Gun Club's trap shooting range southwest of town on Clear Creek Road. According to the local FFA Chapter's Reporter, Zoe Scofield, following a meeting of officers, the club's First Vice President Carter Rayburn and Sentinel Wacee Simonson grilled hamburgers.     The Chinook Public Schools District 10 Board Meeting was held on September 9th at 7 PM. Two board members were absent and only one member of the general public attended the meeting.     For the 2025-2026 school year, Turner Public School (TPS) shares their out- of-the-gate status report. That report includes new staff, unique challenges, enrollment numbers, and goals for the year ahead. When school began on the Big Flat on August 18, TPS students welcomed two new teachers and one new teacher of residence.     You may have a lead pipe supplying city water to your residence or business. Lead solder and pipes were banned in 1988 by the state of Montana. Prior to 1988, lead pipes were in wide use in older homes from the early 1900s. There is a large percentage of homes in Chinook that meet the pre-1988 parameter.     Hello From the Chinook Senior Center We had the most wonderful time, this past Saturday, carpooling out to Beaver Creek for a Pic-Nic. Many people contributed to this delightful day. We were able to take the new YAV (Young Adult Volunteers) with us as well. We enjoyed great food, fellowship, Cornhole, Conversation, Frisbee and Pinochle, too.     SOUTH BLAINE COUNTY, Mont. – Access will be limited on a portion of Cow Island Road just west of Cow Creek in south Blaine County, Montana, beginning Sept. 29 as contractors work to replace a damaged 3-foot-diameter culvert running under the road.
