Chuck Hewitt (shown in this 2014 photo) is credited with coming up with the original idea for the Sugarbeet Festival. Hewitt admits he first came up with idea but said "a lot of other hardworking people made the first one a success and have kept it going over the years." He was disappointed when there was no festival in 2017, but happy to see a new version set for this coming September 7th and 8th.
